About the Global Sustainable Tourism Summit:
The inaugural 2024 Global Sustainable Tourism Summit will be held at Sustainable Tourism Certified Pullman and Mercure King George Square in Meeanjin / Brisbane, QLD in June 2024. Previously known as the Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference, one of the longest running ecotourism conferences in the world, the Summit combines the Global Eco Conference with the innovative ECO Think Destination Forum held in 2022 and 2023.

Global Sustainable Tourism Summit is designed for all sectors of the visitor economy to hear from industry leaders and sustainability experts, exchange ideas about how to grow Australia’s sustainable and ecotourism sector and showcase the latest innovations and best practice examples. It is an opportunity to discuss and explore the challenges, issues and opportunities in sustainable tourism while engaging with industry stakeholders. Visit the event webpage for more information: https://www.ecotourism.org.au/conference

Our Theme:
The Global Sustainable Tourism Summit will explore the theme ‘People, Planet, Place, Purpose’, delving into how all sectors of the visitor economy can address the four pillars of sustainability: cultural, environmental, socio-economic, and sustainable business management. Hear from industry experts as they uncover their sustainability successes and learn how your enterprise can strengthen the four pillars of sustainability.

Program Overview:
Day 1
Sustainability Site Visit
Welcome Function
Day 2
Summit Day
Summit Dinner
Day 3
ECO Think Forum

The Global Sustainable Tourism Summit program begins on day one with a Sustainability Site Visit and Welcome Function, followed by the Summit Day and optional Summit Dinner on day two. Day three will be an ECO Think Forum to hear practical tips and tricks and brainstorm the future of achieving the four pillars of sustainability for businesses and destinations.

To contribute to the sustainability of the Summit, the event will offer predominately vegetarian catering. Please indicate any dietary requests in your ticket.
