An important event for both local competitors and the wider rural community who look forward to connecting socially, the Heart of the Goldfields Rodeo is held annually in July at the Dalrymple Equestian Centre.
The Heart of the Goldfields Rodeo is fast becoming a signature event in North Queensland. Over the past three years this event has sold out each year and attracted thousands of spectators. In 2021 it was awarded Community Event of the year at the annual Australia Day awards and in 2023 was in the top four Australian Professional rodeos as voted by the competitors.  
The rodeo has now expanded to include both Friday night and Saturday, providing two days of rodeo action. 
This year, along with some of the best rodeo action in Australia we have live music by Branded Men and Luke Geiger.
